The homeowner for this project wanted to renovate his entire condo starting with the master bathroom. The existing bathroom got frost in it during the cold Chicago winters, so we designed underfloor heating throughout and put in twice as much insulation on the exterior wall, thus eliminating the frost and cold floor issue in one fell swoop. The footprint of the bathroom is small and the existing finishes and lighting made it seem even smaller. By bringing in bright warm materials on the tile and vanity, as well as improving the amount of light in the room, this 50sf bathroom feels twice as big as it did before. The new sink is a floating concrete ramp sink with our custom designed vanity below. We also custom designed open shelving in the wall on the right to include a wood surround that matches the vanity, glass shelves, and accent lighting. The client was very happy with this design and was able to showcase it as a selling point when he had to sell for his new job out-of-state.
