Stone Barn Meditation Camp | Latvia
A tranquil place to retouch your inner sanctum, the Stone Barn meditation camp is an eco-retreat for nature-lovers of all kinds. Set in the lovely, Latvian countryside, this pastoral paradise welcomes those intrepid souls seeking solitude and sanctuary.
The most awe-inspiring element present on the site that we wished to focus our design parti around was the water running through the heavy, solid stone barn. The magnitude and weight of the barn spoke surprisingly harmoniously with the weightlessness and shapelessness of the water that lived in juxtaposition and seeming defiance of it.
Programmatically in the ‘barn,’ we have included various meditative locations along the water, a meditation loft, a classroom space for yoga or other practices, a reception & complementary tea & juice bars with associated lounge areas, a dining hall with communal table with a full-service kitchen, a sauna & changing rooms, and a therapy room for massage or acupuncture treatments.
